Movement and Imagination with Chelsea Acree
About this playgroup:
Have you ever spent some time walking along the Hudson River? If so, what did you encounter? Have you ever found a piece of driftwood?
Drawing from the inspiration of author William Miniver’s Driftwood Days, in this class parents and children will be asked to reflect on their experiences living in the Hudson River Valley, visiting the shore, or traveling to any body of water where driftwood can be found. We will consider the life of driftwood throughout the seasons, how it forms, how it changes over time, and who it meets along the way. After examining these questions and investigating real driftwood, we will use our own bodies to travel through the life’s journey of a piece of driftwood.
This class requires parents and caregivers to move and dance together so come wearing comfortable clothing and be prepared to participate!
This playgroup is open to movers of all ages!
